Preschool

Kloe is just about to finish up her first full year of preschool. She has come so far this year in her speech and I have really noticed a huge improvement in being able to follow directions in group setting.  Now to some her progress in letters and numbers and colors might seem slow but for Kloe she did amazing this year. She was about to go from knowing no numbers to saying 3. She went from knowing no letters to passing off 3. She can match 8 colors and point to 2. She can point to 5 shapes and match and point to one. She is in the beginning stages of being able to write her name. She has partial mastered how to hold a pencil, scissors, and has mastered holding her paper still when she is coloring. She shows enthusiasm for learning, projects, controls her emotions, follows routine. She is working on expressing her ideas, and listening attentively, and her gross motor coordination.  Her teacher (who is amazing) says, "Kloe is such a fun girl to have in class. She is really following the routine better and notices everything and lets people know when they need to do something. Her colors and shapes are coming."

I am so grateful to have Kloe is such an amazing school where she can have time in a large group and have individual attention. She gets speech, occupational, and physical therapy on a regular basis. I was worried that we were going to have to fight for Kloe to have the education that she deserves and I still don't doubt that in the future we will have to but for now I am going to be grateful that she has a class and a teacher who loves her and is willing to put in the extra work that Kloe needs.
